Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi has announced its partnership with Solaris, a European financial services provider, to launch a Visa-backed crypto-to-fiat debit card. This new program, which is set to launch in the second quarter of 2023, will allow Huobi users residing in the European Economic Area (EEA) to pay from their crypto accounts at point-of-sale stations globally.
The EEA comprises all 27 European Union (E.U.) member states, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. According to Andrea Ramoino, the Chief Strategy Officer at Solaris, this is just the first step in their partnership, and they look forward to providing more payment options to users in the EEA region and beyond.
The program is expected to provide users with the ability to move their crypto assets from their digital wallets to their Visa-backed debit cards, allowing them to spend their crypto holdings with ease. Additionally, the card will provide users with the ability to convert their digital assets into fiat currency when making purchases.
The new card has been approved by Visa and is expected to provide users with an easy and secure way to spend their crypto holdings. It is hoped that the card will provide users with greater liquidity and access to the crypto markets, allowing them to take advantage of the opportunities that the space has to offer.
This partnership between Huobi and Solaris is expected to bridge the gap between digital and fiat currencies, providing users with a more seamless and efficient way of spending their crypto holdings. It is hoped that this new program will help to further accelerate the adoption of digital currencies and provide a more secure and reliable way to access the crypto markets.
